Russell Roberts y Chrissy Quayle fundaron Masque en Londres. Se trasladan a Salobreña, Andalucía, Spain en 2013.

Russell comenzó su carrera en Londres donde toca la batería en grupos de jazz, colabora con diversos musicos, entre ellos el galardonado piansta Tim Richards y participa en una gira con la legendaria estrella americana del saxo tenor Big Jay Mcneely. Al fundar Masque comienza a tocar la guitarra acustica y actualmente también el cajon flamenco y otros instrumentos de percusión.

Christine es de origen Irlandés y comenzo cantando y tocando música folk en Cornwall, Inglaterra. Ha estudiado flauta tradicional irlandesa, también toca el piccolo, el whistle irlandés y el saxo soprano. Formó la sección de viento Lip Service en Londres y ha realizado giras con varios artistas, entre ellos el famoso músico de reggae, Bob Andy.

Masque ha publicado 3 cds y tiene en Londres un contrato con Proper Music. Su nuevo CD, MASQUE ya está disponible, con 14 canciones, incluyendo algunas tradicional Irlandesa con ritmos flamencos.

Masque were formed in London by Russell Roberts and Chrissy Quayle. In 2013 they moved to Salobreña, Andalucía, Spain.

Russell Roberts began his career playing drums in London and has performed with many jazz artists including award winning pianist Tim Richards. He also toured with legendary American saxophone star, Big Jay Mcneely. Russell now plays Spanish acoustic guitar, cajon and other percussion.

Christine is from an Irish background. At the age of 19 she had a contract with RCA in London and recorded her first album as part of a band called Daylight. She studied Irish traditional flute playing, and also plays piccolo, whistle and soprano saxophone. She formed the all girl brass, section Lip Service in London, and toured with many artists, including Bob Andy, the famous reggae singer.

Masque have now released their latest CD album, Masque, with 14 songs, including some traditional Irish, with flamenco rhythms. It is available in Spain for 7 euros. They have previously recorded and released 2 CD’s, Look Out, and Another Time. There are various guests playing on the albums, including Fast Eddie Clarke from Motorhead, Claire Lindley from Stackridge, Fairground Attraction percussionist, Roy Dodds, and jazz guitarist Ross Anderson and Jazz Warrior/Jazz Jamaica tenor saxophonist Brian Edwards.

  1. This is a nice site. I remember Doctors of Dub and Species, and found you here. Planning to see a concert when near enough. Music sounds good. Why no Tartarsaurus?
